Is istihadah the same as istihadha?
Yes. Istihadah and istihadha are the same Arabic term, استحاضة, written with two common English spellings. Both mean irregular or non-menstrual bleeding that is treated differently from hayd.
What is the difference between hayd and istihadha?
Hayd is menstrual bleeding classified under your madhab's rules. Istihadha (also spelled istihadah) is non-menstrual bleeding. Prayer and fasting are paused during hayd; istihadha does not carry that exemption. Prayer preparation and wudu requirements depend on your school and circumstances.
